HULL AND SUPERSTRUCTURE - The "SUPER-DRAGON®" hull meets the requirements for ABS Offshore Rules and is of a 6 pontoon construction for stability, freeboard, and transportability. Outboard pontoons are for flotation, ballast and storage of fuel. Hull bottom plate is 3.75 in. (9.5 mm) and side plate is 0.31 in. (7./9 mm); bulkheads are reinforced 1/4 in. (6.4 mm) or heavier steel plate. The Control Center is designed for operator comfort and efficiency with all controls, gauges and instruments located on a non-glare, split bank control console with night lights.

DIRECT-DRIVE PUMP UNIT - Heavy duty dredge pump, directly driven by tandem Caterpillar diesel engines, is designed and manufactured by Ellicott® for maximum efficiency over a wide range of dredging conditions. Pump is designed to facilitate maintenance and parts replacement; the pump case and impeller are cast of special alloy abrasion resistant steel, the renewable head liners are abrasion resistant alloy cast iron, min. 500 BHN. Dredge pump, engines, and reduction gear are mounted on a structural foundation that is an integral part of the hull.

LADDER - The "SUPER-DRAGON®" ladder is of rugged flanged steel, cross-braced construction. Cutter angle can be varied by inserting a reversible, bolt-in wedge piece, allowing proper cutter and suction feed for deep or shallow digging.

CUTTER MODULE - Cutter is driven by three high torque hydraulic motors.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM - The Ellicott® designed hydraulic system features both fixed and variable volume, separate open and closed-loop circuits. The hydraulic pumps are driven by a Caterpillar auxiliary engine.

LADDER AND SWING WINCHES - Three independent winches, one for the ladder and two for swinging, are located on the aft end of the ladder to eliminate turning sheaves. Each winch is driven by an independent hydraulic motor.

SPUD AND SPUD WINCHES - The two heavy steel, welded spuds with cast steel pointed ends, positioning holes and cross pins, are lifted by heavy-duty sliding side-lift collars with built-in sheaves. Spuds are raised or lowered by individual single-drum winches with free-fall clutches. These are mounted on a structural platform under the spud frame.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - Powered by a 460V (100kw) 3-phase 60HZ diesel generator set equipped with 24V battery and charging system. A 120/208V 60HZ distribution system is provided for 120 VAC lighting and utility receptacles (380V 50HZ electrical system with 220 VAC lighting and utility receptacles is optional).

FRAMES - A-frame, gallows frame and spud frame of welded box-type beam construction, pin-connected for easy mobilization. The tie structure between the deck and forward frames is heavy fabricated steel.

WARRANTY - Ellicott® warrants its equipment only in accordance with the printed warranty conditions which are normally included in our sales proposals, the latest copy of which will be forwarded promptly on written request. No other warranties are provided.
