Ellicott Dredges' 2007 Mid-Year Report:Ellicott Dredges and its affiliates (Liquid Waste Technology, Mud Cat™, IMS Dredges, and United Marine International) have issued their 2007 mid-year report. Ellicott Dredges is the largest U.S. dredge manufacturer.
New Products
Multiple units of the 8" swinging ladder dredge ("Swinging Dragon™") have been ordered and built. These highly portable machines are excellent for dredging in confined small spaces.

LWT has delivered a new state-of-the-art robotic crawler dredge, the RCD-6, to an Asian client for work in an underground municipal sewer culvert. This crawler breaks new ground for length of remote controlled umbilical: 500 ft (160 meters).

Ellicott Dredges has just delivered a new design 14", 50 ft DD (16m DD) Jet Dragon™ for sand and gravel mining in New Jersey, USA to a major multinational aggregate producer. The new design will use jet-assists rather than more expensive ladder pumps.

New Orders
The company has received over $50MM in orders so far this year and has a $50MM backlog.
Iraq Orders
Notable amongst Ellicott's 2007 orders are more contracts from the Iraq Ministry of Water Resources for 8 dredges worth over $15MM. These will be delivered in 2007 and 2008 and used for enhancing power production at hydro-electric power plants on the Tigris and Euphrates. The Company and its affiliates have now received orders for over 15 units for Iraq.
Enhanced Financing
To support this growth, the Company has increased its bank lines to over $10MM including support from the U.S. Eximbank and the US Small Business Administration.
Production/New Plant
The Company now has over 40 dredges under construction at its Baltimore and Wisconsin plants. A new 50,000 ft2 plant is well under way in New Richmond, WI and scheduled for completion by the end of 2007. When complete, the existing Wisconsin plant will be sold.

"Manufacturing Today" magazine featured Ellicott Dredges in its June issue. The article, titled "From Old Line Manufacturing to New World Success," touted Ellicott for "reinventing itself multiple times to compete as a front line manufacturer for over 100 years."

What's New in our Customer and Field Service Departments
With the increased number of new dredges going into service, particularly over the last 18 months, we've added new staff to Ellicott’s Customer Service (Parts) and Field Service Departments.
Jack Fiddes recently joined Ellicott as Manager of Customer Service replacing Jerry Gladwell. Jack has 15+ years of experience in Customer Service Management from Teledyne Energy Systems, Inc.
Jerry Gladwell is heading up product development and support as Technical Liaison interfacing with customers, engineering and field service. Jerry’s expertise with Ellicott Dredges' products are invaluable and will be of tremendous assistance with the rapid growth of the company.
Mark Heimberger, with 10+ years of experience in dredge operation and maintenance has been promoted to Manager of Field Service Operations.
Congressional Visit
U.S. Congressman John Sarbanes (D-3/MD) visited Ellicott's Baltimore plant on August 29th and met with workers and management. Sarbanes said, "Ellicott’s reputation as a leading dredge manufacturer is well-established and has been earned over many years of success. Its continued growth is important to the local manufacturing economy and has resulted in new high-paying jobs.”
