Series 670M Dragon® Dredge
The Series 670 Dragon® Dredge is a portable cutterhead suction dredge that balances high performance with easy transport. This dredge model is larger and more powerful than the Series 370, featuring a 14-inch (350 mm) pump for increased production rates. A defining feature of the Series 670 is its excellent stability, which allows it to operate effectively, up to 42 feet (12.8 meter) dredging depth in semi-protected waters where smaller dredges might struggle. Despite its larger size, the dredge is designed to be disassembled and transported by truck, making it a practical choice for contractors who need to move equipment between different job sites frequently.
This dredging machine is specifically suited for medium-sized projects that require consistent output and reliability. It is widely used for navigational dredging in small ports, harbors, and rivers to maintain water depth for commercial vessels. The Series 670 is also a popular choice for sand and gravel mining operations due to its powerful cutting ability and discharge distance. Its simple single engine design, durable construction makes it an excellent option for government agencies and first-time dredge owners who need a dependable vessel for long-term maintenance programs.

Key Features
- Enhanced Production Capacity: Equipped with a larger 14-inch (350 mm) pump and increased engine power, delivering significantly higher output rates for time-sensitive projects.
- Superior Stability: Features a wider hull configuration and heavy-duty sponsons, allowing for safe and effective operation in semi-protected waters and areas with light wave action.
- Extended Discharge Capability: The powerful pump system generates higher head pressure, enabling the transport of sediment over longer distances without the immediate need for booster stations.
- Optimized for Port Maintenance: The specific combination of digging depth and swing width makes it the ideal efficient solution for maintaining small ports, harbors, and river channels.
- Heavy-Duty Excavation: The rugged cutterhead drive is designed to handle compacted sediments and gravel that lighter portable dredges may struggle to break up.
Typical Applications & Users
- Port & Harbor Maintenance: Deepening inlets and anchorages in semi-protected waters.
- Coastal Restoration: Pumping sediment for beach nourishment and marsh creation.
