Series 460SLM Swinging Dragon® Dredge
The Series 460SLM Swinging Dragon® Dredge offers the maneuverability of a swinging ladder system with increased power and production capacity. Like the smaller 360SLM, it features a digging ladder that swings left and right while the hull remains fixed in place, eliminating the need for external cables. However, this model is equipped with a more powerful pump and engine package, allowing it to move higher volumes of sediment over longer distances. It features a robust hull design and a hydraulic spud system that allows the operator to advance the dredge efficiently through the cut, maintaining high productivity in narrow channels.
This dredge is engineered for medium-sized projects that require both precision and performance. It is frequently selected for deepening commercial marinas, restoring river channels, and maintaining industrial waterways. Because it does not require extensive setup space for anchors, it is an excellent solution for dredging in busy harbors where boat traffic must continue uninterrupted. The Series 460SLM is also utilized for environmental cleanup operations, such as removing contaminated sludge from settling basins and restoring wetlands in restricted zones.

Universal Standard Features
Modular Mobility
Every standard Ellicott dredge is engineered for transportability. Whether it is a single-truck unit or a modular heavy-duty vessel.
In-House Manufacturing
Ellicott designs and builds its own major components, including dredge pumps, and cutter head assemblies.
One-Man Operation
Dragon® dredges feature a centralized control room where a single operator can manage the entire dredging cycle.
Marine-Grade Construction
Our dredges are built using heavy-duty structural steel, marine-rated electrical systems, and corrosion-resistant coatings.
Global Support Legacy
With dredges operating in over 100 countries, Ellicott offers field service support for machines that have been in operation for decades.
Key Features
- Enhanced Production Capability: Delivers significantly higher pumping rates and cutting power than smaller swinging ladder models, allowing for faster completion of maintenance projects.
- Stationary Hull Excavation: The ladder swings independently of the hull, allowing the vessel to operate in narrow canals and marinas without the width constraints of a conventional swinging dredge.
- Unobstructed Waterway Operation: Eliminates the need for cross-channel cables and anchors, ensuring that boat traffic and navigation can continue safely during dredging activities.
- Positive Spud Travel: Equipped with a hydraulic tilting spud system that allows the dredge to "walk" itself forward, providing precise positioning without the need for winch assistance.
- Robust "Mini" Class Design: Bridges the gap between small marina dredges and larger cutter suction vessels, offering the durability of a heavy-duty dredge in a compact package.
Typical Applications & Users
- Canal Maintenance: Restoring flow in narrow irrigation ditches and stormwater canals.
- River Restoration: Removing sediment bars and debris from narrow river sections.
- Wetland Remediation: Accessing restricted marsh areas for sediment removal or placement.
- Primary Users: Waterway management districts and specialized remediation contractors.
